Some of this is trivial stuff -- flags that aren't even referenced except to read them from the command line. I removed a few more that weren't used in any meaningful way. I figure we could also stand to remove --nofork, since "freeing up memory for g++" isn't a concern anymore, but I figured it might still be useful somehow.
